Bandits storm Sabon Gyero in Kaduna, killing one and abducting seven, including women and children, while stealing phones and laptops

Bandits on Monday morning attacked Sabon Gyero community in Millennium City, Chikun Local Government Area, Kaduna State, killing one person and abducting seven others.

A source said the attackers targeted a residence, abducting three women and four children. They also raided a phone-charging centre, shooting and killing a young man, Abdullahi Lawal, popularly known as “Kurma,” who was deaf-mute.

He was rushed to a hospital but died before reaching medical care and was later buried according to Islamic rites.

During the raid, the bandits stole several mobile phones and laptops from the centre.

Joint Task Force (JTF) Kaduna spokesman Uwaisu Yunusa stated that the task force pursued the attackers after hearing gunshots but were unable to catch them. One of the kidnapped women was later released due to health complications.
