Waterfalls are one of the most spectacular geographic firms of nature. Niagara Falls, The Igazu Falls and more, the world is full of waterfalls which are there waiting for you to find.
We hope that you see that waterfalls are not just accidents; they’re incredible forms of nature. That’s why we’re going to share 18 photos of waterfalls which will make you fall in love.
Niagara Falls
Niagara Falls can be found in between the USA and Canada. There is 15,0000m of water falling down everyday which you can hear from far in the distance and will help you find your way to the waterfalls.
Near to the waterfall you can try all sort of outdoor activities such as cycling, hiking and camping. There’s also an aquarium and butterfly parks for the kids.
Victoria Falls
Victoria Falls are located on the Zambezi River also on the border between Zimbabwe and Zambia. The waterfall got its name from an English explorer but the original was Mosi or Tunya which mean ‘thundering smoke’. They say the noise can be heard miles away which isn’t surprises as there are 70million litres of water falling down every minute.
Angel Falls, Venezuela
Angel falls is the tallest waterfall in the world. They are almost 1km high (979 metres). Getting to Angel Falls requires a little mountaineering experience which is not suitable for everyone. First you have to get to Canaima National Park which is only possible by plane.
Source of the Mundo River, Spain
In the heart of Spain in the province of Albacete, lies the river Segura. This idyllic area takes you away from reality to another world. The best time to visit this waterfall is in spring or the months with more rain as there’s more water at this time of year.
Waterfalls of Plitvice Lakes National Park
Plitvice waterfalls are located in Plitvice National Park which is a world heritage site in Croatia. Travelling to the waterfalls includes a boat trip on the biggest lake in Plitvice which is a journey through nature.
Dettifoss Waterfall, Iceland
The largest waterfall in Europe is located up in chilly Iceland, halfway between Selfoss and Hafragilfoss in Jökulsárgljúfur National Park. You may not be able to pronounce the name the first time, the waterfalls are spectacular.
Cola De Caballo, Spain
The Cola de Caballo waterfall is located in the Ordesa valley in the Spanish Pyrenees. The visual effect of the water falls down the rock in the form of a zig zag. If you visit this waterfall in winter, the valley turns into a glacier, in other times of year it’s a normal valley.
Seven Sisters Waterfall, Norway
The Seven sisters Waterfall in Norway is one of the most impressive waterfalls you will ever see. The waterfall is actually divided into 7 parts which fall freely in the space of 250m. It’s located in the Geiranger fjord, which is another wonder of nature in itself.
Agua Azul Waterfall, Mexico
The Agua Azul waterfalls are located in the Chiapas state in Mexico. It doesn’t stand out for its height but actually for the blue colour of the water. To get there, you need to take a 5 hours hike through the countryside, so be prepared!
Kaieteur Falls, Venezuela
One of the most impressive waterfalls in south America are Kaieteur Falls, located in Keieteur National Park in Venezuela. Although less famous, its actually 5 times taller than Niagara Falls.
Nuranang Falls, India
Nuranang Falls in India is located near the city Tawang. It’s calls Nuarang Falls, Jung Falls or Bong Bong. The water comes out from the woods mixing the white foam with the green leaves, it’s a spectacular sight.
Seljalandsfoss, Iceland
Seljalandsfoss Is one of the best known waterfalls in Iceland. This waterfall flows down 60 m into the Seljlandsá River and creates an astonishing view. It’s located in one of the quietest parts of Iceland and do you know that Game of thrones was filmed here?
Rucana Falls, Angola
There are hundreds of waterfalls in Africa but Rucana Falls is definitely the most powerful and the water seems to fall from every inch down from 120 metres. It’s definitely one of the most underrated waterfalls in the world and worth a visit as that means less tourists.
Jog Falls, India
This waterfall is special, as the water falls down directly onto the rocks rather than flowing along. This created a rain effect and means you’ll see a beautiful rainbow on a sunny day (which is very often here).
The Cascata delle Marmore, Italy
The Cascata delle Marmore is located in the Umbria region of Italy. It’s divided into three waterfalls which can amaze anyone visiting. The waterfall is surrounded by a park offering many different viewpoints for breath-taking views.
Ban Gioc-Detian Falls
Ban Gioc waterfalls are some of the most beautiful in the world, located in between China and Vietnam. The humidity of the atmosphere here means there is moss and plants all around, creating an idyllic landscape. To get to the main waterfall you need to go through a cave!
Barron Falls, Australia
Barron falls are located in Queensland, Australia. They can be accessed by foot and to get to the best viewpoints there’s even a train. It’s ideal for visiting family and if you want to see something more than just kangaroos in Australia!
San Rafael Waterfall, Ecuador
The highest waterfall in Ecuador and one of the most stunning in the Amazon River. It’s surrounded by a tropical landscape.

The Federal Government has approved an upward review of the fees for the Nigerian passport effective from September 1, 2024.
This was disclosed in a statement issued on Wednesday by the spokesman for the Nigeria Immigration Service, Kenneth Udo, on the X handle of the NIS.

The increment aims to ensure the quality and integrity of the Nigerian Standard Passport, Udo said.
“As part of its efforts to maintain the quality and integrity of the Nigerian Standard Passport, the Federal Government has approved an upward review of the fees for the passport, effective from September 1, 2024.
“Based on the review, a 32-page passport booklet with five-year validity previously charged at N35,000 will now be N50,000 only; while a 64-page passport booklet with 10-year validity which was N70,000 will be N100,000,” the statement read.
The NIS said though it regretted “any inconvenience this increase might cause prospective applicants,” it assured Nigerians of “unwavering commitment to transparency and quality service delivery at all times.”
On October 21, 2022, the UAE government announced a ban on 20 African countries, including Nigeria.
However, on July 15, 2024, Nigeria’s Information Minister, Mohammed Idris, announced that the ban “had been lifted following a mutually beneficial discussion” between Nigeria and the UAE.

Since this announcement, there has been a frenzy of information activities in the media.
Visa Fees and Banking Requirements:
Changes are imminent and reveal a source close to the UAE. Following the recent lifting of the visa ban, the UAE imposed more controls on the visa process, requiring document verification to ensure the authenticity of documents submitted by applicants.
The Document Verification Number (DVN) fee was structured at 640,000 NGN by the website managing the DVN process, documentverificationhub.ae. Additionally, a bank balance of 15 million naira was requested as a precondition to obtain a visa.
These stringent fees and banking requirements have caused significant concern and backlash among Nigerian travellers and stakeholders.
Potential Review and Reduction of Fees:
In response to the widespread concern, the Federal Government of Nigeria (FGN) requested through official channels that the UAE reconsider these fees.
However, only the UAE has the power to lower these stringent conditions, something the Nigerian government has been actively pushing for.
Sources close to the UAE have revealed that a new and revised rate for DVN and the bank balance requirement is imminent. This potential review aims to make it more affordable for Nigerians to visit the UAE for tourism, business, and family visits.
The FG’s efforts appear to have been successful, with several sources confirming that the UAE is seriously considering revising the fee structure.
Impact on Nigerian Travelers:
A reduction in DVN and visa fees would alleviate the financial burden on Nigerian travellers, making it easier for them to visit the UAE. This move is expected to foster stronger ties between the two nations, encouraging more tourism, business engagements, and cultural exchanges.
Lowering the fees would likely increase the number of Nigerian visitors to the UAE, boosting tourism and economic activities. It would also provide an opportunity for more Nigerians to explore business and investment opportunities in the UAE.
Timeline and Implementation:
Although the exact timeline for the fee reduction has not been announced, changes are anticipated soon.
Detailed guidelines and updated fee structures are expected following the review.
The potential reduction of visa and DVN fees underscores the UAE’s commitment to maintaining strong bilateral relations with Nigeria.
This development signifies a positive step towards more inclusive and affordable travel policies, benefiting Nigerian citizens and enhancing diplomatic ties.

Following the lifting of the visa ban on Nigeria, the United Arab Emirates Government has increased its visa fee by over 300 per cent, which has been condemned by air travellers in the country.
Expressing anger over the development, a traveller at the international wing of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, Rose Aikigbe, said “This is a clear indication that the UAE government doesn’t want Nigeria in their domain. How much is the United Kingdom taking? Why is the amount so out of reach?

“I think the Nigerian government needs to do more engagement with the government of the United Arab Emirates, please let them do something to this hike.”
Also, a father of three, Adejare Adebukola, who claimed to have two children willing to study in Dubai, begged the government to act on the hike to save his children’s dream.
“If the government refuses to do something about this hike and the UAE government also remains adamant, I am sorry my children whose dreams are to study in Dubai will have to have a change of thought.”
On X, MAYOR @Enokeran2016 said, “You think FG constant solicitation was for mere Nigerians? The constant appeal from the Nigerian government to lift travel bans to the UAE appears to primarily benefit wealthy individuals and politicians seeking a haven for their ill-gotten wealth, rather than ordinary Nigerians.”
NEFERTITI with X handle @firstladyship stated, “It is obvious the UAE don’t want Nigerians. They reluctantly unbanned the Nigerian passport but slammed a hefty N640,000 on Nigerians.
“Guess what? The money is nonrefundable & has an expiration date. This is see finish.”
The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, announced the lifting of the ban while briefing the State House correspondents on Monday after the Federal Executive Council meeting presided over by President Bola Tinubu.
Idris said the Federal Government and the UAE authorities had reached an agreement vacating travel restrictions imposed on Nigerians with immediate effect.
The minister revealed that Nigerian passport holders can now travel to the UAE without any form of hindrance. He also asked Nigerians seeking information on the updated UAE visa conditions can visit documentverificationhub.ae for further details.
He said, “I can tell you that the agreement has been reached and effective from today (Monday), Nigerian passport holders intending to travel to the UAE are able to do so.”
Our correspondent observed on the United Arab Emirates document verification website
that applicants were required to pay N640,000 as non-refundable application fees for visas.
Meanwhile, our correspondent gathered that before the visa ban, the fee was $100, amounting to N155,500, using the currency exchange of N1,555/$.
The hike of the visa fee to N484,500 indicates a 311.58 per cent rise.
The N640,000 fee does not guarantee a visa to UAE as the issued Document Verification Number will only be valid for 14 days of issuance or once the visa application has been processed by the visa application department.
It will be recalled that the UAE imposed the visa ban on Nigeria in connection with several diplomatic disputes.
Additionally, Dubai’s Emirates Airline halted flights to Nigeria because the Central Bank of Nigeria couldn’t remit an estimated $85 million in revenue to the UAE.
In June, following several meetings with the UAE government, the Federal Government assured Nigerians that the visa ban would soon be lifted. During the same month, the Nigerian government announced that it had paid 98 per cent of $850m.
