The Ogombo Community of Lagos State is one for the better as one of Nigeria’s leading real estate developers, LandWey Investment, through its NGO arm, WeyCare, launches 50 million Naira scholarship fund for the children living in the community.
The announcement was made on Tuesday, 30th November 2021, at a funfair event organized for the children and parents of the Ogombo Community. The event, themed “Building their Future”, served as a CSR outreach to inspire the children of the locale with the much-needed educational aid and assistance to build a better future.
In his announcement, Olawale Ayilara, Group Managing Director, LandWey, said,
We are committed to giving back to the Ogombo community, as we are interested in the welfare of everyone – not only those living within the Urban Prime estates, and particularly the education of the children, that’s why we are getting all hands on deck in a bid to build a better future for our children. As the saying goes, it takes a village to raise a child.
Access to the 50 million Naira educational grant will be made through applications and an efficient screening process to ensure fair and equal disbursement.
Parents who attended the funfair were not left out as gifts, relief packages and medical checkups were administered while the children went home with back-to-school kits after being treated to a fun day of games and refreshments.
The funfair also marked the beginning of a 5-day celebration as the real estate giants mark their 5th year anniversary. Adesola Bello, Acting Managing Director, LandWey, in expressing her joy at this milestone said,
“we are proud at how far we have come and how much more we are willing to go to provide excellent product and service delivery.”
The 5-year anniversary celebration also featured a thanksgiving banquet with gospel artists Tope Alabi, Victor Thompson and David Nathan ministering at the event. Guests were treated to fine dining, classical music and further entertained by a revving performance from the ‘Peru’ crooner, Fireboy DML.
In a bid to reward excellence and top achievements over the course of the year, LandWey recognized the top performers of the year with brand new SUVs, all-expense-paid trips and a 2-Bedroom Unit at The Apartment going to the top performer of the year.

Former federal lawmaker and entertainment mogul, Shina Peller, has dismissed rumours suggesting he is related to popular TikTok star Peller.
In a recent interview with Channels TV, Peller clarified that despite the widespread recognition of the “Peller” name, the TikTok comedian is not part of the renowned Peller family.
“I have heard about the TikTok star Peller and a lot of people have asked me whether he’s a member of our family,” Shina Peller said. “Truly, Professor Peller’s family is quite extended, but he is not a member of the family.”
The Peller family, known for its association with the legendary magician Professor Peller, is widely recognised in Nigerian entertainment history. Shina Peller explained that the name “Peller” was bestowed upon his father due to his career as a magician, and it has since become an adopted family name.
“The name ‘Peller’ was given to our father as a magician, and it’s a name that the family has adopted since the time of my father,” Shina Peller added.
Addressing the TikTok star’s use of the name, he remarked, “Peller, the comedian, is not a member of the Peller family. It’s a successful name.
He’s just being smart. He’s been able to pop with the name. You can’t blame him but I can tell you categorically that he’s not a member of the Peller family.”
Shina Peller’s statement clears up the confusion surrounding the relationship between him and the TikTok personality, emphasising that while the name “Peller” is successful and widely known, it does not necessarily imply familial ties.

Tacha originally got the tattoo of Davido before participating in the 2019 Big Brother Naija reality show. The tattoo symbolised her admiration for the superstar singer, but their relationship took a sour turn in October 2023.
The fallout began when Tacha criticised Davido for liking a tweet that disparaged her fellow BBNaija alum, Phyna. In response, Davido liked another tweet that subtly shaded Tacha, escalating tensions between the two.
During the heated exchange, Tacha vowed to remove the tattoo, a promise she has now fulfilled. The video, which has since gone viral, shows the intricate procedure of removing the ink.
Tacha, who recently relocated to the UK, captioned the video with reflections on moving forward and letting go of past attachments.
Fans have been reacting to the development, with many commending her decision while others questioned the significance of the tattoo in the first place.
