The parents of Leah Sharibu have stated they are tired of begging President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration to help them get their daughter back after she was kidnapped by Boko Haram four years ago.

Leah Sharibu was one of 110 female students from the Government Girls’ Science and Technical College in Dapchi, Yobe State, taken by Boko Haram insurgents on February 19, 2018.

Nathan and Rebecca Sharibu said they were tired of speaking and pleading with the government that had remained indifferent to every genuine demand to free their daughter.

The parents, speaking through Dr Gloria Puldu, their spokesman, said:

“Thank you very much for your thoughtfulness. Allow me to inform you about how the family has decided to celebrate Christmas this year.

“They claimed they were tired of complaining and begging with Buhari’s government, which they had claimed was deaf to their pleas.”

“As a result, it has been decided that they will keep mute and only beg for ongoing prayers.
They stated they were tired of the routine calls, which were hurting them so much that they had to ask anyone who wanted to stand with them to do so exclusively in prayer.

“We want to honor the wishes of the family. We’ve solely sent out Christmas wishes in the form of a prayer request.”
