NAFDAC APPROVES AFE BABALOLA UNIVERSITY HERBAL MEDICINE FOR FIGHTING CORONAVIRUS

National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control, NAFDAC, has given its nod to the Afe Babalola University, Ado-Ekiti, ABUAD, to commence the mass production of ABUAD Herbal Virucidine Liquid with effect from December 16, 2021.

ABUAD Herbal Virucidine Liquid is an immune booster and antioxidant for Coronavirus and other Viral infections which can also be used as an anti-inflammatory agent.

A statement made available to newsmen in Ado-Ekiti on Sunday by the University’s Director of Corporate Affairs’ Tunde Olofintila, said, “It is a product which has been conscientiously produced and packaged in 100-ml bottles with an instructional leaflet and dosage measurement cup”

With this achievement, ABUAD has joined researchers in some foreign universities which have been making efforts to produce anti-viral medications for the treatment of Covid-19”

According to the statement, “ABUAD has further confirmed its frontline position in quality teaching, impactful research and community service. It has also demonstrated to the world that the solutions to the ravaging Covid-19 may not be far-fetched after all, but could indeed be found by African Scientists.

“The news was conveyed in a December 17, 2021 letter with Index Number 210819, Serial Number 0000177510 and NAFDAC Listing Number A7-100180L signed by the internationally acclaimed Director-General of NAFDAC, Prof. Mojisola C. Adeyeye.

The letter which listed the name and address of the Applicant and Manufacturer as the Pharmacy Department, ABUAD Multi-System Hospital, Km. 8.5, Afe Babalola University LTD/.

Commenting on the development, an elated Founder & Chancellor of the University, Aare Afe Babalola, SAN, recalled that the University was founded on three pillars of quality and functional education, research and community service in order to reform education and revive research in Nigerian Universities.

Corroborating this, the University’s Director of Research, Prof. Opemiposi Omotuyi, pointed out that the research breakthrough on Herbal Medicine has been made possible by the unparalleled assemblage of quality and sophisticated equipment and infrastructure in the university.

The University’s Chief Pharmacist, Mrs. Toyin Afolabi, expressed gratitude to stakeholders like the National Universities Commission (NUC), the Medical & Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN), the parents, the committed and dedicated teachers and students the combined efforts of who made the university what it is today.

“With this achievement, the Chief Medical Director of ABUAD Multi-System Hospital, Dr. Kolawole Ogundipe, appealed to Industries in Nigeria to reach out to and partner with ABUAD in research and investment in products and services which will enhance the quality of their products and quality of life of humanity”.

The tragic news of Prince Ozulor being killed in Atlanta, United States, has gone viral on social media According to reports, the manager and friend of hitmaker Timaya was shot outside a gas station leading to his dead Reacting to the news, the singer took to Twitter to express sadness over his friend’s death, revealing that they had just reconciled

These are sad times for Timaya and the family of his manager/best friend, Prince Ozulor, who was recently killed in the United State. According to reports, the 38-year-old had made a stop at the BP along 14th Street NW at Atlantic Drive near Georgia Tech around 9 p.m. on Wednesday evening, August 31.

While waiting in line in the store for about a couple of minutes, he noticed some individuals trying to get into his car, so he ran outside to go after them.

It was during this process that one of the suspects shot him. According to reports, he was rushed to the hospital, where he died.

Reacting to the news, the singer took to Twitter to express sadness over the nears. He revealed that he had just recently reconciled with the deceased.

He wrote: “I can’t believe I came to America to bury my BEST friend. Nnamdi why? And we just reconciled.”

We are not your problem – Mr Macaroni calls out Nigerian police

Skitmaker, content creator and activist, Debo Adebayo better known as Mr Macaroni has called out the Nigerian police for oppressing citizens.

The ‘Freaky Daddy’ took to his Twitter page to vent out over their constant maltreatment of citizens.

Mr Macaroni noted how there is a Nigerian police online and offline.

The activist pointed out how the citizens are not their enemies.

“There is Nigerian Police Online and There is Nigerian Police Offline. But at the end of the day, Police na Still Police. Dear Nigerian Police, the Poeples are not your enemies!!! Stop oppressing us”.

Mr Macaroni had lent his voice to the Dei Dei expressway crisis in Abuja.

Male thugs had besieged Abuja airport road, attacking moving cars and people living around the vicinity.

At the time of reporting, it had been confirmed that 4 persons had been killed.

The minister himself confirmed the tragic news as he ordered all markets to be shut down.

Speaking out, Mr Macaroni noted how the citizens were slowly turning the country into a full blown tribal war.

The skitmaker stated that the mishaps going on in the country daily was becoming scary.

Mr Macaroni called on the government, community and religious leaders to take swift action to calm the tension.

He tweeted, “This is sooo scary!! The Government, community and religious leaders must take swift action to calm this tension… God forbid that we have full blown tribal war!! It will do us no good!!! Abeg!!!”.

Mr Macaroni had cried out over several threats to his life for not supporting a ‘particular presidential candidate’.

The skit maker who earlier stated that he will continue to speak against injustice and oppression in Nigeria took to Twitter to pen down a lengthy note about some threats he had received for not drumming his support for a particular presidential candidate, whose identity he refused to disclose.

Narrating his most recent ordeal, Mr Macaroni revealed that he had received different threats including cyber bullying via different online attacks and tribal propaganda, from some party members and supporters of the certain presidential candidate because they feel he is against their choice.

He wrote:

”I went to visit my mother 2 weeks ago. I was giving out money to some people in the neighborhood as I always do anytime I go home. A woman walked up to me and asked why I am against a particular candidate.. I said I am not against anyone. All I want is for a better country.

And that can only happen when we vote in good leaders. The next thing she said is that I should better watch myself because they know where my people live. I asked if that was a threat and she continued saying all sorts. My sister and manager were with me
