Why I’m Not on More Episodes of Jenifa’s Diary – Falz

Published

on

Folarin Falana popularly known to the world as Falz The Bahd Guy or simply Falz is an award-winning musician, actor, songwriter, activist, and entertainer. While Falz started off primarily as a musician, he later delved into acting securing his first major role as Sege on the very popular television show, Jenifa’s Diary.

Since then, he has gone on to be in major projects like Quam’s Money and Chief Daddy. He also recently created his own production house called House 21 TV which was responsible for producing the hit Youtube show, Therapy starring Falz and Toke Makinwa.

In a new interview with Inkblot’s Meet & Greet, Falz opened up about a number of things. I am particularly a fan of Sege on Jenifa’s Diary and his journey as a filmmaker so I have extracted the key parts of what Falz had to say about the show Jenifa’s Diary and his filmmaking future. Here’s what Falz said.

Falz and Funke Akindele as Sege and Jenifa on Jenifa’s Diary

First speaking on why we don’t see him more on Jenifa’s Diary and his thoughts about the show, Falz said:

If I could be on the show every single episode, I would but it’s just schedule, timing, shooting, ah!

People genuinely root for them (Jenifa and Sege). And there was a time that she had a bit of a confusion in her life as per which guy she should pick and everybody was like Sege! Funke is able to build herself around characters that she’s working with and I have to say she’s one of the most, if not the most hardworking person I have come across in this entertainment industry. This woman, as we’re on set, she’s writing the next episode, she’s directing. Ha!

Then speaking about if he ever plans on becoming like Funke Akindele in terms of writing, producing, and making his own content, Falz said:

I love filmmaking, that’s what I’ve come to realize. I really love the process of taking an idea and bringing it to life in the form of film. I really love that. So I think I’m definitely going to do a lot more. I don’t know the specifics. I can’t say for sure that I will go into directing. I’m already a filmmaker with House 21. We’re creating films, we’re creating different other types of content. Now writing I think I probably would get into. That’s for sure. Ideas come to me already and with music, I already write music and it’s not the same, but having that kind of background, I think I’ll be able to write. But directing, you never know.

Finally, speaking about if we’re going to get more of the very beloved show Therapy which he did with Toke Makinwa, Falz said:

From the beginning, it was not the plan to do up to season 3. So the initial idea came as one season. The way the first season did, it was almost blasphemy to not do season two. So we did a season two. Now because I don’t have plans for season three, I however have plans for a spin-off. It’s meant to spin-off into a bigger show which I will then maybe take to like a VOD, like a bigger platform.

Dr. Justin Dean, the estranged husband of popular Nigerian dancer and singer, Korra Obido has revealed why he started dating again barely one year after his union with the dancer packed up.

According to the question and answer he had on social media, Dean said he only lives once, so he is allowed to enjoy his life to the fullest.

Recall that a few months ago Dr. Dean opened up on how broken he was since their marital crisis started.

Via his Instagram page, he lamented that Korra Obido doesn’t care about their marriage and that he had to leave the marriage for his mental health.

Posting a photo of himself on Instagram, Dr. Dean wrote, “I’m heartbroken! Anyone that knows me or watches me online knows that I’m a dedicated family man to both Korra and my children.
This is honestly the hardest decision of my life, but necessary. I’m walking away from this marriage for my mental health and to be the best version of myself. I must set a healthy example for my children. This has nothing do with postpartum depression. I’ve been betrayed once again and she is unbothered, which pretty much summarizes our marriage.

My apology to the all the young men and women that believed we had a “perfect marriage”. Marriage is based on mutual love, respect, humility, accountability, empathy, apologies and most of all effective communication to understand the other person’s perspectives. Likes and views shouldn’t be the highlight of your relationship. Men: Your mental health matters! In order to be strong, you have to be happy.”

Dreams come true indeed and has for Niniola as she actualises a long-standing dream to work with Diddy years after DMing him.

Nigerian vocalist and the Queen of Afrobeats, Niniola, has secured a collaboration with American musician and mogul, Did.

A story of divine providence and destiny, the two had connected over a video call with an excited Diddy telling Niniola how he wanted them to approach the collaboration saying; “I want you to do it all and send it to me one time when you feel like I’ve given this song my all cause it’s our song. This is what you manifested a long time ago”

Then Diddy had shared how he got the collaboration with Niniola. He said; “I was looking for somebody to be on the Afrobeats remix and Spinalk told me about her. I go to message her then I see that you sent me a message… 2018 saying I want to work with you one day but I’m calling her saying I want to work with her.”

So far, there are no details on what particular Diddy song Niniola is set to submit a verse on but the media mogul had in June this year, put out a 16-track project– Bad Boy Celebrates Diddy: The Artist, featuring diverse talents from Keyshia Cole, R Kelly, Mario Winans, the late Notorious B.I.G and other famous acts. In addition to this, Diddy had put out a single, Go On with Bryson Tiller. As a result, the collaboration which Diddy mentioned was an Afrobeats remix, could be any of these songs.
