Shina Peller denies being related to TikTok star Peller
Shina Peller clears the air on rumours about his relation to TikTok star Peller, confirming that the comedian is not part of the Peller family.
Former federal lawmaker and entertainment mogul, Shina Peller, has dismissed rumours suggesting he is related to popular TikTok star Peller.
In a recent interview with Channels TV, Peller clarified that despite the widespread recognition of the “Peller” name, the TikTok comedian is not part of the renowned Peller family.
“I have heard about the TikTok star Peller and a lot of people have asked me whether he’s a member of our family,” Shina Peller said. “Truly, Professor Peller’s family is quite extended, but he is not a member of the family.”
The Peller family, known for its association with the legendary magician Professor Peller, is widely recognised in Nigerian entertainment history. Shina Peller explained that the name “Peller” was bestowed upon his father due to his career as a magician, and it has since become an adopted family name.
“The name ‘Peller’ was given to our father as a magician, and it’s a name that the family has adopted since the time of my father,” Shina Peller added.
Addressing the TikTok star’s use of the name, he remarked, “Peller, the comedian, is not a member of the Peller family. It’s a successful name.
He’s just being smart. He’s been able to pop with the name. You can’t blame him but I can tell you categorically that he’s not a member of the Peller family.”
Shina Peller’s statement clears up the confusion surrounding the relationship between him and the TikTok personality, emphasising that while the name “Peller” is successful and widely known, it does not necessarily imply familial ties.

BBNaija star Tacha removes Davido’s tattoo amid public fallout, sharing the procedure on Instagram after years of admiration for the singer.

The reality TV star documented the tattoo removal process in a video shared on her Instagram page, marking the end of what was once a gesture of admiration.

Tacha originally got the tattoo of Davido before participating in the 2019 Big Brother Naija reality show. The tattoo symbolised her admiration for the superstar singer, but their relationship took a sour turn in October 2023.
The fallout began when Tacha criticised Davido for liking a tweet that disparaged her fellow BBNaija alum, Phyna. In response, Davido liked another tweet that subtly shaded Tacha, escalating tensions between the two.
During the heated exchange, Tacha vowed to remove the tattoo, a promise she has now fulfilled. The video, which has since gone viral, shows the intricate procedure of removing the ink.
Tacha, who recently relocated to the UK, captioned the video with reflections on moving forward and letting go of past attachments.
Fans have been reacting to the development, with many commending her decision while others questioned the significance of the tattoo in the first place.

Afrobeats star Davido stresses that effective leadership is crucial for Nigeria’s prosperity, citing poor governance as the nation’s main challenge.
Afrobeats superstar David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has emphasised that effective leadership is the missing piece needed for Nigeria to achieve its full potential.
Speaking on the Elevate Africa Convos podcast, Davido criticised ineffective governance as the primary obstacle to the nation’s progress.
“Nigeria has so much potential,” Davido said, “but I just feel the only thing missing is the right leaders to guide us. Once we get that right, I believe there’s nothing that can stop us.”
He further remarked on the resilience of Nigerians, adding, “If you can survive in Nigeria, you can survive anywhere.”
The singer’s comments come amid ongoing discussions about the challenges facing Africa’s largest economy.
In a previous interview on The Morning Hustle podcast, Davido noted that Nigeria struggles with a lack of true democracy, further complicating its economic and political trajectory.
His remarks also follow a recent controversy where he advised Americans against relocating to Nigeria, citing the country’s struggling economy.
The statement sparked debate on social media, with some agreeing with his observations while others criticised his stance.
Davido’s influence extends far beyond music, as his candid commentary on national issues often resonates with fans and critics alike.
Many view his calls for leadership reform as a reflection of widespread frustration with the current state of governance in Nigeria.
