How Iyabo Ojo, Eniola Ajao caused Mercy Aigbe’s fight with Shoe Entrepreneur, Larrit

That Nollywood actress, Mercy Aigbe had an altercation with Lagos socialite and businesswoman, Lara Olukotun aka Larrit is no longer news.

The June 12, 2022 event which happened at a shop opening ceremony in Lagos definitely made headlines on social media.

But not many knew what caused the fight between the two beautiful women.

Known to be a friend to many actresses including Iyabo Ojo, Larrit, who dated Fuji musician, Pasuma Alabi but was jilted by him, had started throwing shades at Mercy since her marriage to Adekaz was announced on social media.

She put up many cryptic posts on her Instagram page but Mercy never replied.

Recall Lara Olukotun was friends with Iyabo Ojo and they had a fight over Pasuma in 2017.

Obviously, many Lagos girls were not comfortable with the fact that Larrit was dating Pasuma. Iyabo Ojo fell out with Larrit but there was a fight that got Larrit a black eye. She didn’t hesitate to put it up on Instagram and called her assailants betrayers.

Also rumoured to be part of the gang-up against Larrit were actresses, Faithia Balogun and Dayo Amusa—they took sides with Iyabo Ojo.

But currently, Larrit is a good friend of Iyabo Ojo and Faithia Balogun.

Back to Larrit and Mercy Aigbe.

With the rivalry between Iyabo Ojo and Mercy Aigbe, its obvious Larrit and Iyabo Ojo must have snitched behind Mercy’s back on her marriage to Adekaz. An unbothered Mercy kept flaunting her man to them all.

“But why is Lara throwing shades at Mercy Aigbe when she supported Emmanuella Ropo’s marriage to Fuji maestro, KWAM1? Why did she support Kayanmata entrepreneur, Miwa’s marriage to a married man? For many weeks, she kept taunting Mercy Aigbe on her page as if Mercy murdered someone,” a source close to the actresses said.

The ceremony on Sunday was an avenue for Mercy Aigbe to flaunt her marriage again and she threw diatribes at her haters.

It was Eniola Ajao, who mentioned to Mercy that Larrit called her name and was talking about her. Promptly, a furious Mercy asked Larrit why her name was mentioned. Larrit, obviously angry that Mercy Aigbe was singing and making gestures towards her, stood up and threw a bottle at the Nollywood actress.

What could have been bloody was averted by other guests and some security personnel present. The public show of shame was quickly nipped in the bud, as both combatants had to be led away for the sake of peace before things degenerated further into a bloodletting battle.

But Iyabo was all smiles throughout the drama.

“She is very close to Larrit and told her many things about Mercy Aigbe. There is an unhealthy rivalry between Mercy Aigbe and Iyabo Ojo which is obvious to many of their colleagues in the industry. She should have managed the matter well especially with Larrit who is a close friend of hers,” sources mentioned to Kemi Ashefon.

Former federal lawmaker and entertainment mogul, Shina Peller, has dismissed rumours suggesting he is related to popular TikTok star Peller.

In a recent interview with Channels TV, Peller clarified that despite the widespread recognition of the “Peller” name, the TikTok comedian is not part of the renowned Peller family.

The Peller family, known for its association with the legendary magician Professor Peller, is widely recognised in Nigerian entertainment history. Shina Peller explained that the name “Peller” was bestowed upon his father due to his career as a magician, and it has since become an adopted family name.

“The name ‘Peller’ was given to our father as a magician, and it’s a name that the family has adopted since the time of my father,” Shina Peller added.

Addressing the TikTok star’s use of the name, he remarked, “Peller, the comedian, is not a member of the Peller family. It’s a successful name.

He’s just being smart. He’s been able to pop with the name. You can’t blame him but I can tell you categorically that he’s not a member of the Peller family.”

Shina Peller’s statement clears up the confusion surrounding the relationship between him and the TikTok personality, emphasising that while the name “Peller” is successful and widely known, it does not necessarily imply familial ties.

Tacha originally got the tattoo of Davido before participating in the 2019 Big Brother Naija reality show. The tattoo symbolised her admiration for the superstar singer, but their relationship took a sour turn in October 2023.

The fallout began when Tacha criticised Davido for liking a tweet that disparaged her fellow BBNaija alum, Phyna. In response, Davido liked another tweet that subtly shaded Tacha, escalating tensions between the two.

During the heated exchange, Tacha vowed to remove the tattoo, a promise she has now fulfilled. The video, which has since gone viral, shows the intricate procedure of removing the ink.

Tacha, who recently relocated to the UK, captioned the video with reflections on moving forward and letting go of past attachments.

Fans have been reacting to the development, with many commending her decision while others questioned the significance of the tattoo in the first place.
