Facebook hosts creators to exclusive dinner in Lagos

Meta, formerly named Facebook, hosted creators in Lagos at an exclusive dinner aimed at celebrating their impact and creativity, as well as introducing them to the various technologies that are paving the road to the metaverse. Held at GAIA Africa club, this included a mix of content creators and technical creators who represent a variety of interests from Music, Comedy and Augmented Reality Specialists.

This followed a day where Meta showcased some of its tech, Avatars, Spark AR and digital collectables (NFTs), features that will be a big part of the metaverse experience. These creators spent the day co-creating and building ideas that would bring them closer to their diverse communities.

“We recognise Nigerian creators as trailblazers that express themselves, inspire others, and build communities and livelihoods, while connecting with their audiences. We are excited to bring these talented creators together to celebrate their achievements and work with them to build inclusive products for connected metaverse experiences,” said Kojo Boakye, Meta’s Director of Public Policy, Africa, Middle East and Turkey. “At Meta, we are committed to providing a new and immersive way for people to connect and we are excited about building inclusive products that achieve this in the metaverse.”

Creators that attended the exclusive dinner were:

  • Mark Angel comedy, a scriptwriter and comic skit maker who produces the ‘Mark Angel’ Comedy.
  • Josh2funny, a comedian and content creator, famous for making covers of popular songs.
  • Ayomidate an actor, content creator and comedian, who is known well-known for his Instagram skits.
  • Miss Techy, a female digital creator popularly known for her captivating VFX videos on Instagram.
  • Frank Itom, a storyteller and creator, popular for his video editing illusions infused into lifestyle and entertaining content.
  • Tolu Bally, an award winning fashion entrepreneur and celebrity stylist.
  • Santi, a musician and visual artist.

Also in attendance at Meta’s showcase of its tech were Tenientertainer,  an award-winning singer and songwriter, Ayrastarr, one of the leading female singers signed to Mavin Records and Nissi, a popular afrobeat singer and animator.

Other creators who attended the dinner are Anthony Azekwoh, Somi Nwandu, Shutabug, Miracle Otugo, Judith Okonkwo (Imisi3D), Tobi Odion and Hadeeart.

Actress, Halima Abubakar reacts after Apostle Suleman threatened legal action if she fails to retract allegations against him

Halima Abubakar, who seemed unfazed by the threat, took to her Instastory to state that she’s ready to face the clergyman in court.
Popular actress, Halima Abubakar, has reacted after famous clergyman, Apostle Johnson Suleman, threatened to sue her if she fails to retract her accusations against him.

Halima has in recent times accused the controversial clergyman of having sexual intercourse with her after lying about his marital status.

She also accused him of reneging on his promise to marry her and said he was behind a strange ailment that has plagued her for years, causing her stomach to swell.
The 37-year-old actress, who took to her Instagram page to make this accusations, also said the clergyman should be held responsible if anything happens to her.

“Pls don’t worry about me. But you can hold Johnson Suleman responsible, just in case.

“You can’t do anything, though. Nigerians are aware. If anything happens, Johnson, it’s you’’, the 37-year-old actress wrote.

Well, in a new development, Apostle Suleman, through his legal representatives, Ephesus Lex Attorneys & Solicitors, issued a cease and desist notice to the actress.

In the notice, they stated that her accusations are false, malicious, defamatory and demeaning, and ordered that she desists from making further accusations.
They also ordered that she publish a report retracting the allegations in five national newspapers within three days from Thursday, September 29.

They also demanded that she repays the clergyman all the costs incurred in defending and protecting his reputation.

Davido, Chioma share lovey-dovey moment at nightclub

Davido, the award-winning Nigerian singer, and Chioma Rowland, his third baby mama, have been seen having fun together at a club.In a video shared by Cubana Chiefpriest via his Instagram page on Friday, the ‘OBO’ crooner could be seen sitting while Chioma had her hands around his neck.

“I dey very sure say my sister @thechefchi, go born another pikin next year for @davido. #Vision 2023, Assurance 2:0. As e dey sweet us, e dey pain them, my sister too fine,” Cubana captioned the video in Pidgin.

The duo have been in the public eye for a few years now over their relationship.The musician had proposed to the celebrity chef in September 2019 after the couple had staged a low-key introduction ceremony.

He thereafter announced plans to tie the knot with her in 2020 but would later postpone the wedding.

Their once glowing relationship also hit the rocks in March 2021 after the ‘OBO’ crooner was rumoured to be having an affair with Mya Yafai, American model.The pair welcomed Ifeanyi, their first child, in 2020.

The video has further thickened speculations that the pair are back together again.

This is not the first time they would be seen together at an event in recent times.

Last year, they turned up for a birthday party held for Ifeanyi, with smiles on their faces.
