Omawumi pens tribute in honor of Waje’s 42nd birthday

Foremost female singer, Omawumi has reflected on the impacts her best friend and colleague, Waje made on her through her music.

Omawumi made this known to mark Waje’s 42nd birthday today, September 1st.

It was double celebration for the singer as she celebrated her birthday with the launch of her song, Unbroken.

The song is an appreciation to God who holds her unbroken.

“I give praise to a beautiful God who has shown me mercy, in whose presence I stay, who am I without you? I cannot imagine. Na me be this, singing hallelujah Abasi!!!! You are God alone who holds me UNBROKEN!!! Album out on all Digital platforms”.

Marking her birthday, Omawumi revealed that when she heard her new song, she was moved and she could feel the great pull of the Holy Spirit.

She appreciated God on her behalf, for showing her her purpose.

She also appreciated God for giving her a friend like Waje.

“Happy Birthday @officialwaje When I heard #wajeunbroken I was so moved! I could feel the Great Pull of the Holy Spirit. Thank God for showing you your purpose — The Part you play in His Will. Thank God for you in my life. Thank God for you. Only you be Lion wey come hold gun join! Have a blast as always!”.

Omawumi had opened up on her relationship with colleague, Waje.

The singer, songwriter and actress in appreciation of her bestfriend shared a post of them to debunk any rumours of a split or beef.

According to her, it had been long since they were spotted together in public and to avoid Nigerians preying and investigating their friendship, she decided to appreciate her in public.

Actress Eniola Ajao’s epic, Ajakaju crosses N100 million mark in Nigerian box office

Nollywood actress Eniola Ajao’s producer debut epic, “Ajakaju (Beast of Two Worlds),” has surpassed N100 million in ticket sales at the Nigerian box office.

Film distribution company FilmoneNg announced this achievement in a tweet on Thursday afternoon. According to the tweet, the indigenous film, co-produced by Anthill Studios, grossed N101.2 million within five days of its release on March 29, 2024.

“The Beast has conquered !!! #Ajakaju : Beast of Two Worlds is making all the waves in the cinemas nationwide hitting 101.2m at the box office in 5 days • Nigerians are not playing on this one. Thank you for trusting every movie we dish out”

Just a few days ago, Niyi Akinmolayan, the founder of Anthill Studios, shared a post revealing that “Ajakaju” had not only become the highest-grossing film for the weekend but also secured the title of the largest Easter opening film ever. This milestone further shows its position as the third-highest opening for a Nollywood film of all time, having earned N63.2 million within 72 hours of release.

This indigenous movie, “Ajakaju,” marks Yoruba actress Eniola Ajao’s debut production venture to hit cinemas nationwide. It has propelled her to become the first-time female producer to achieve the biggest opening for an indigenous film in Nigerian cinema history. The movie opened at cinemas with N16 million on its first 24 hour run.

Movie plot

The film explores the plight of a king facing exile due to his wives’ inability to conceive a male heir. To ensure the continuity of his dynasty, he marries a woman from another realm, leading to unforeseen turmoil and a battle for his legacy.

On its opening day, “Ajakaju” grossed N16 million, as reported by Nairametrics.
