Nigerian Lady who graduated from Canada university with 100% record wins $18,000 Mastercard grant

Oluwabunmi Amosu, a talented Nigerian woman who graduated from McGill University in Canada with a perfect CGPA (100%) score, outperformed her peers to win the $18,000 Mastercard Foundation Startup Awards.

Oluwabunmi Amosu will receive a Master’s degree in Education and Society from McGill University in Montreal, Canada, in 2020 thanks to a scholarship from the MasterCard Foundation.

In 2022, she received her diploma from the school with a perfect CGPA score of 4.0/4.0. After her remarkable academic success in Canada,

Oluwabunmi Amosu excels once more at the 2022 McGill Dobson Bootcamp & Cup Competitions, where she won first place by presenting the concept of her firm, the Smart Innovation Hub, to a large audience.

She co-founded Smart Innovation Hub while earning her master’s in Education and Society, according to McGill University, which highlighted her excellent contributions while she was a student there.

According to Oluwabumi Amosu, Smart Innovation Hub took home $18,000 for winning first place in the Mastercard Foundation Startup Awards and third place in the Dobson Social Impact Enterprise Track.

ICPC Re-Arrests Former JAMB Registrar Ojerinde

The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), on Thursday, re-arrested the former Registrar of the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Adedibu Ojerinde, in Abuja.

ICPC spokesperson Azuka Oguguwa, said in a statemement that Mr Ojerinde, who is currently undergoing corruption trial, was re-arrested after he allegedly refused to honour its invitations over fresh allegations of corruption.

“The commission had on the 12 December, 2022, invited the former JAMB Registrar for questioning over the new evidence but he wrote through his solicitor requesting for 14 days grace to enable him honour the invitation.

“Mr Ojerinde, however, refused to honour the invitation as undertaken by his counsel after the expiration of the 14 days grace on 27th December, 2022,” the statement read in part.

According to reports, Mr Ojerimde was re-arrested by operatives of the commission after a court hearing before Obiora Egwuatu of the Federal High Court, in Abuja, where he is standing trial on 18 charges of diversion of public funds to the tune of N5 billion.

The ICPC had arraigned him before the court on 8 July 2021.

The Heute news reported earlier that the Femi Otedola was set to host an extravagant 60th birthday celebration.

Femi Otedola had spent 3 million pounds, which is about a 2.2billion naira to rent Aristotle Onassis’ Christina O super luxury yacht ahead of his 60th birthday.

The Heute reports that in celebration of his 60th birthday which holds this Friday, November 4th, the astute businessman and Chairman of Geregu, rented the super yacht.

The super yacht belongs to one of Femi Otedola’s childhood idols, the late Greek shipping magnate, Aristotle Onassis, who was once regarded as the richest man in the world.

Otedola rented the yacht to celebrate his 60th birthday in it with his family and friends.

The yacht will sail for three weeks around the Mediterranean Sea.

Otedola was filmed entering the yacht with his family and son-in-law-to-be, Mr. Eazi, this afternoon.

Many are having a field day reacting to the news. While some cheered on him to live his best life, others faulted him for being insensitive to Davido’s son’s death.

Lagos fixes date for Basic Education Certificate Examination resit

The Lagos State Examinations Board has fixed October 6 as the new date for the 2022 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) resit.

Director of the Board, Orunsolu Adebayo made the announcement in a statement on Wednesday.

The examination, initially scheduled for September 28, would still take place in various designated centres across the state.

Adebayo explained that the postponement became necessary to accommodate schools yet to register their candidates.

“The Board does not wish to deny the affected candidates the opportunity of taking the examination”, he noted.

The statement urged principals to take note of the new date and make best use of the extended date to ensure that affected candidates were duly informed.
