Singer Benkrezt calls on Burna Boy and Timaya to follow Olamide’s footsteps

Upcoming singer Benkrezt has called on his colleagues, Timaya and Burna Boy to invest in the South.

The singer noted how Olamide has been of immense influence to many western artistes in the music industry.

Calling them to rise and stand up, Benkrezt urged them to do the same in the South, most especially Port Harcourt, their birth root.

Benkrezt added that there are several talents in the south who need to be discovered.

“Olamide has helped a lot of local contents (artists) from the West (lasgidi) rise & stand @burnaboygram @timayatimaya please do same in the south (Port Harcourt, we use God beg una. Plenty talents dey south but helpers far from us”.

This is coming just a day after Zlatan Ibile heaped praises on his senior colleague, Olamide.

This year, many artists sang Olaminde’s praises as they recounted the many impacts he had made in the industry.

Joining them, Zlatan who was first signed to Olaminde’s label, YBNL, had recounted Olaminde’s impact in his life.

Zlatan attested to how Olamide had changed his life and the lives of many like, Fireboy, Asake, Ycee, Yung John, Dotman, Fuse and many more.

He revealed that Olamide had reached out to him via Instagram and had taken him to another state to record his first song, which became a hit.

Praising him, Zlatan noted how Olamide never made noise or capped about his numerous achievements.

“My first song he called me on phone, he took me to another state, till I was recording I didn’t believe I was going to record that song. He changed my life – he changed my career. Me I have helped people.

Nigerian musician Portable revealed that Olamide is his godfather in the music industry, despite past criticisms. Portable now enjoys international success with a Skepta feature.

 

Controversial Nigerian musician Habeeb Okikiola, known as Portable, has disclosed that ace rapper and YBNL boss Olamide is his godfather in the music industry.

In a recent interview with Echo Room, Portable spoke about the significant role Olamide played in his career.
