D’banj, Patoranking set to thrill as Vanguard Personality of the Year Award holds Today

The Convention Centre of Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos, is bound to be filled to capacity on Friday as celebrities, politicians, business moguls and creme-de-la-creme of the society gather for this year’s edition of the annual Vanguard Personality of the Year Award.

The awards ceremony, which honours distinguished Nigerians who have excelled in their chosen careers will be hosted by beautiful actress and TV presenter, Zainab Balogun alongside her male colleague, Deyemi Okanlawon, who’s best known for his role in Funke Akindele’s blockbuster movie, “Omo Ghetto:The Saga.”

The two movie stars will set the tone for the night by dishing out rib-cracking jokes and moderating the day’s proceedings. It will have in attendance the cream of the society, including Nollywood stars as they storm the event to support one of their own, Pete Edochie, who will be receiving a Lifetime Achievement award on the night.

Among them that have confirmed their attendance include,National President of Actors Guild of Nigeria, Emeka Rollas, Paul Obazele, Shirley Igwe, Fidelis Duker, Cossy Ojiakor, Angela Eguavoen, Nosa Rex. Others are top actress Etinosa Idemudia, Uche Elendu, Seyi Hunters, Bose Alao, Amaka Obi, Joke Lawal , Peju Johnson among others.

Meanwhile, on the lineup to thrill guests tonight include, reggae-dancehall singer, Patoranking, Laolu Gbenjo, multi-talented singer, ,Eltee Skhillz and MC Remote.

Laolu Gbenjo and his Band will take the guests down memory lane, dishing out evergreen songs and bringing to the table live band experience like never before.

Eltee Skhillz, who’s the son of veteran actor, Jide Kosoko and his late wife, Henrietta will be making his first appearance at the awards show. He came to limelight last year, after he released his breakaway song ‘ODG (Odogwu Na The Spender)’ off his debut EP titled ‘Body Of Work.’The song emerged as the most Shazamed song in Nigeria at the time of release and trended on social media platforms.

Gospel singer, Mercy Chinwo shut down an Omnisport stadium during her Grand Excess Love concert held recently in Lome, Togo.

The award-winning gospel artiste enthralled her audience and brought down God’s mercy upon the worshippers with her popular worship song Excess Love.

The two-day concert was filled with high-energy praise and worship, as Minister Mercy led a lineup of gospel ministers from several African nations in delivering a heartwarming session that moved the audience to tears.

She is currently one of Nigeria and Africa’s gospel artists topping the charts of streaming music platforms.

Burna Boy to perform at 2023 UEFA Champions League

Grammy award-winning Burna Boy will perform at the 2023 UEFA Champions League. The multi-platinum-selling singer is scheduled to co-headline the Champions League Final ‘Kick off Show’ by Pepsi, at the Atatürk Olympic Stadium in Istanbul on Saturday, June 10.

Announcing the news, Pepsi senior director of global marketing, Gustavo Reyna said: “The UEFA Champions League final is the stand-out date of the club football calendar, and Pepsi prides itself on marking the occasion with the very best entertainment spectacles.

“The newly named ‘Kick Off Show by Pepsi’ is going to be huge this year; we’re so excited to welcome Burna Boy, one of the world’s most exciting artists, to the final stage and we can’t wait to see which fans are selected to feature as part of this truly unmissable performance.”

MC Oluomo at 48 thank God for surviving life challenges

Chairman of Lagos State Parks and Garages, Musiliu Akinsanya famous known as MC Oluomo marks his birthday today with a prayer request.

Oluomo expressed gratitude to God for surviving the challenges through the last 365 days and turning a year older. He appreciated his family, friends, colleagues and other well-wishers for their support.

Making his birthday wish, he prayed to his creator to make him wise and strong to follow his heart.
