"If anything happens to me, hold Davido responsible" - Dammy Krane

Popular Nigerian singer, Dammy Krane, has alleged that fellow artiste Davido orchestrated his illegal arrest by the police, accusing him of defamation.

In a series of posts on his X (formerly Twitter) handle, Dammy Krane claimed that his arrest was ordered by Davido, further accusing the “OBO” crooner of plotting to frame him for involvement in cryptocurrency scams.

“If anything happens to me, @davido should be held responsible,” Dammy Krane wrote. “Oppressor @davido has paid them to arrest me. They wrote a petition, lying that I am into Flutterwave & Crypto scams just to arrest me. This is how they keep using the bad cops to spoil the name of the police.”

The rift between the two artistes traces back to 2023, when Dammy Krane publicly called out Davido over an alleged unpaid debt.

The situation escalated when Davido responded, labeling Dammy Krane as ungrateful.

Since then, Dammy Krane has persistently accused Davido of various misdeeds, including insinuating that Davido was involved in the death of his friend, Tagbo Umeike, who passed away in 2017 after a night out in Lekki, Lagos State.

Bobrisky EFCC bribery allegations

Bobrisky is under investigation by the EFCC after claiming to have bribed officials to dismiss money laundering charges against him.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has taken controversial cross-dresser Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, into custody for questioning regarding his claims of bribing officials within the agency.

The allegations arose after a viral audio recording surfaced, in which Bobrisky purportedly stated that he paid N15 million to some unnamed EFCC officials to drop money laundering charges against him.

According to an EFCC source, Bobrisky’s interrogation began shortly after his arrival in Abuja, where he was transported after failing to respond to multiple invitations from the commission.

“He was interrogated for hours upon his arrival here. He is still with us as I speak (8:30 pm),” the source reported.

EFCC’s Head of Media and Publicity, Dele Oyewale, confirmed that Bobrisky could face new charges if his allegations against the EFCC were found to be untrue.

“Bobrisky is on his way to Abuja as we speak,” he stated. The commission’s investigation was triggered by the claims made in the recording shared by activist Martins Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan.

Earlier this week, Bobrisky was removed from an Amsterdam-bound KLM flight at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos while attempting to leave the country for London.

He later posted on Instagram about his arrest, claiming he sustained injuries during a confrontation with immigration officers.

A top EFCC source clarified that Bobrisky was detained to substantiate his bribery allegations. “He accused us of bribery and corruption; we invited him severally, but he did not show up. He who alleges must be ready to prove,” the source remarked, emphasizing the seriousness of the claims.

Bobrisky had reportedly been on the commission’s watch list, making it unlikely that he could flee the country unnoticed.

The EFCC has underscored the gravity of his allegations, noting that charges could be brought against him for providing false information if his claims are unsubstantiated.

As of now, Bobrisky remains in EFCC custody, with the commission indicating that they will release him once he provides evidence of his claims regarding the alleged bribery.

Although Flavour did not explicitly name Kcee in his post, the timing and context of his message suggest that it was aimed at the singer, who has recently made a noticeable shift from Afropop to highlife and Igbo cultural music.

This transition has led to speculation among fans that Kcee might be emulating Flavour’s distinct style.

The interaction between the two artists has sparked discussions on social media, with fans divided over the matter. While some defend Kcee’s artistic evolution, others rally behind Flavour, appreciating his longstanding contribution to the highlife genre.
