Hon. Sesi Whingan EFCC PWAN petition urges probe into real estate fraud claims. House refers the case to the Committee on Public Petitions for investigation

Hon. Sesi Whingan EFCC PWAN petition was formally presented before the House of Representatives, as Hon. Sesi Oluwaseun Whingan called on the anti-graft agency to act on fraud allegations against Property World Africa Network (PWAN), a Nigerian real estate firm.

Representing Badagry Federal Constituency of Lagos State, Whingan criticised the EFCC for failing to investigate multiple petitions involving financial misconduct.

The petitions, submitted by a female complainant and represented by Abdul Hameed Belo, accuse PWAN of fraudulent practices that have yet to be addressed by the Commission.

More troubling, the whistleblower who exposed the alleged fraud is reportedly being criminally targeted and has been remanded.

“This Honourable House must act when justice is neglected,” Hon. Whingan stated. “The EFCC’s inaction undermines public trust and emboldens impunity.”

The House granted the petition and referred the matter to the Committee on Public Petitions for further inquiry. Lawmakers expressed concern over the whistleblower’s treatment and affirmed their commitment to protecting citizens who speak out against corruption.
