Wizkid, Burna Boy, and Davido are often described as the “Big 3” of Afrobeats, but Savage rejected the ranking outright.

Despite being widely regarded as the Queen of Afrobeats, Tiwa Savage has often been excluded from such lists, a trend many observers believe reflects the industry’s deep-rooted misogyny.

The night also carried a personal touch, as Savage brought her son, Jamil, on stage for the first time. The singer had previously said in an interview that she would not want him to pursue a career in music, citing the pressures of the industry.
