Trump death rumors that flooded social media platforms in recent days have been thoroughly debunked, with U.S.

President Donald Trump dismissing the claims as “fake news” during a White House press conference on Tuesday.

The 79-year-old president reappeared in public after a brief absence, putting to rest viral speculation that he was seriously ill — or even dead.

The misinformation wave, which included manipulated images, out-of-context videos, and baseless claims, swept across X, Bluesky, and Instagram, drawing over 35 million views, according to NewsGuard, a misinformation watchdog.

“NEVER FELT BETTER IN MY LIFE,” Trump wrote earlier on Truth Social, attempting to halt the false narratives.

Between Friday and Tuesday, the hashtag #TrumpDead saw over 104,000 mentions on X.

Some users pointed to road closures near Maryland’s Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, falsely claiming they indicated Trump was being secretly treated for a health crisis.

However, no credible evidence supported this claim. Similarly, a widely circulated photo of an ambulance at the White House was falsely labeled as recent — it actually dated back to April 2023, during Joe Biden’s presidency.

Other misleading elements included:

An out-of-context photo of the White House flag at half-staff, falsely cited as a sign of Trump’s death.

In truth, the flag was lowered by presidential order to honor victims of a school shooting in Minneapolis.

A digitally altered close-up of Trump’s face, allegedly showing signs of a stroke — but sourced from a blurred original image and enhanced using AI tools.

NewsGuard’s investigation traced the bulk of these false narratives to liberal anti-Trump accounts across multiple platforms.

Some even posted satirical claims masked as news, which were then reshared uncritically by others.

Even after Trump’s public reappearance, one Bluesky user falsely claimed the “White House just announced” his death — a post that was widely circulated before being flagged.

The incident spotlights the growing threat of misinformation in today’s digital ecosystem, where manipulated content and AI-enhanced visuals can quickly undermine public trust in official information.

The health of U.S. presidents has long been a topic of interest, but with both Trump (79) and Biden (82) representing the oldest presidents in U.S. history, scrutiny is heavier than ever.
