Globacom Ondo partnership introduces digital solutions, free data, e-payments, and surveillance tools to improve governance and efficiency

Globacom Ondo partnership is set to transform governance as the telecoms giant teams up with the state government to deploy digital solutions designed to increase efficiency, transparency, and socio-economic development.

At a strategic meeting in Akure, Globacom’s Group Lead, Enterprise Business, Mr. Adeniyi Odejobi, presented the company’s digital offerings to Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa and top government officials.

The collaboration will introduce several innovations, including a Learning Management System (LMS) for secondary and tertiary institutions. Through Glo Share, students will enjoy zero-rated access, enabling them to study online without using personal data.

In addition, the partnership will provide free access to Ondo’s digital payment platform, allowing citizens to pay taxes and other fees at no data cost.

Glo will also deploy surveillance solutions powered by facial biometrics, a traffic management system to curb crime, and vehicle tracking for official cars to prevent theft and misuse.

To enhance inter-agency communication, Globacom will offer free closed-user group lines for public servants across ministries, departments, and agencies.

Governor Aiyedatiwa lauded the initiative, describing it as a game-changer for governance and innovation.

He stressed that adopting Globacom’s technologies will reduce bureaucracy, boost efficiency, and limit human interference in public processes.
