Arsenal Apology to Atletico Madrid has been issued after a hot water failure at the Emirates Stadium disrupted the Spanish team’s pre-match preparations ahead of their Champions League tie.

According to BBC Sport, the technical issue left Diego Simeone’s squad without access to hot showers following their training session on Monday evening.

UEFA rules permit away teams to train at the host stadium the day before European fixtures.

Atletico Madrid had been scheduled to complete training at 19:30, but wrapped up 15 minutes early after discovering the lack of hot water in their dressing room.

The team opted to return to their hotel rather than remain at the venue.

Spanish outlet Marca reported that the Atletico players were “angry” about the incident, viewing it as a disruption to their routine.

Arsenal later apologised to Atletico Madrid’s staff for the inconvenience, confirming that the issue had been resolved by 19:25—just as the team were departing.

“We regret the disruption and apologise to Atletico Madrid. The issue was swiftly addressed once identified,” a club spokesperson reportedly said.

Despite the logistical hiccup, Arsenal remain in strong form, having won both of their opening Champions League group matches without conceding a goal.

Atletico Madrid, meanwhile, bounced back from a 3-2 defeat to Liverpool with a resounding 5-1 victory over Eintracht Frankfurt, demonstrating their attacking firepower.

In his pre-match comments, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta expressed admiration for Diego Simeone’s team:

“First of all, it’s the willingness to win. You can sense that in every single ball, in every single yard,” said Arteta. “The levels of organisation and discipline are really high. They’re also very good at exploiting specific opportunities with the players they have.”
