Nasarawa Police rescue four abducted children in intelligence-led operation, reunite them with families, and search for fleeing suspects

The Nasarawa State Police Command has successfully rescued four children abducted under suspicious circumstances, following a discreet, intelligence-led operation in the Karu Local Government Area.

Spokesperson Ramhan Nansel said the incident was reported on 31 December 2025 at the New Nyanya Division.

Police immediately launched a thorough investigation, collaborating with the FCT Police Command to trace the children’s whereabouts.

“Acting on credible intelligence, detectives located the suspects’ hideout and safely recovered the children, who were unhurt,” Nansel stated.

Preliminary investigations identified Abraham Asoje, 28, and Joy Bolaje, 29, both of Ado Junction, Karu LGA, as the alleged perpetrators.

The suspects reportedly held the children in confinement prior to the intervention.

The rescued children have been reunited with their families, while authorities continue efforts to apprehend other suspects linked to the crime.

State Commissioner of Police, Shetima Mohammed, commended the professionalism, dedication, and rapid response of the operatives involved.

Nansel reassured residents that the command remains committed to protecting lives and property, especially the safety of children and other vulnerable members of society.
