Nigeria Football Federation confirms Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle will honour his contract despite reported interest from foreign clubs

Sherif Inuwa Ahlan has assured that Eric Chelle will complete his contract with the Nigeria Football Federation, despite speculation about foreign interest in the Malian coach.

Chelle has approximately nine months remaining on his contract with the Super Eagles. His future has been the subject of intense media scrutiny following his success in guiding the national team to third place at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.

Several clubs and national teams have reportedly expressed interest in the former centre-back.

Ahlan expressed confidence that Chelle will honour his agreement.

“The chairman assured that the Super Eagles coach will honour his contract and so there was no reason to discuss his situation,” a source informed SCORENigeria.

The Super Eagles are scheduled to return to international action in a four-nation invitational tournament in Amman, Jordan next month, where they will face hosts Jordan and Iran.
