Former France international and Arsenal legend Thierry Henry has compared Barcelona teenager Lamine Yamal with Portugal captain Cristiano Ronaldo, following the UEFA Champions League quarter-final second leg at Atletico Madrid on Tuesday, April 15, 2026.

The comparison came during Henry’s analysis of Barcelona’s performance at the Wanda Metropolitano.

Henry noted that Yamal displayed a level of confidence and fearlessness similar to a young Ronaldo, especially in high-pressure European fixtures.

The former striker highlighted Yamal’s ability to deliver on his pre-match confidence, after the teenager opened the scoring early in the encounter.

Barcelona initially gained momentum through Ferran Torres, who levelled the tie on aggregate during the match.
