APC Ekiti campaign council inaugurated as Governor Uba Sani leads strategy ahead of Ekiti governorship election scheduled for June 20, 2026

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced plans to inaugurate its National Campaign Council for the Ekiti State governorship election, appointing Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani as chairman of the strategic mobilisation body ahead of the June 20, 2026 poll.

In a statement issued on Monday by APC National Publicity Secretary Felix Morka, the party said the inauguration will hold on Wednesday in Abuja and will mark the official commencement of its statewide campaign activities in Ekiti State.

The Independent National Electoral Commission has fixed June 20, 2026, for the governorship election, setting the stage for heightened political mobilisation across the state.

According to the party, the APC Ekiti Campaign Council will be co-chaired by Senate President Godswill Akpabio, while Senator Michael Opeyemi Bamidele will serve as secretary.

The council will be formally inaugurated at Kashim Shettima Hall, Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre, Abuja, by 12 noon.

Felix Morka said the APC Ekiti Campaign Council is tasked with coordinating campaign strategy, strengthening grassroots engagement and ensuring effective mobilisation ahead of the election.

“The National Campaign Council, chaired by Governor Uba Sani, has the President of the Senate, Godswill Obot Akpabio, as Co-Chairman, and Senator Michael Opeyemi Bamidele as Secretary,” the statement read.

The council is composed of serving and former governors, principal officers of the National Assembly and other senior party figures.

To support its operations, several subcommittees have been established to oversee election planning, finance, mobilisation, logistics, protocol, media strategy, security coordination, women’s mobilisation, youth engagement and secretariat functions.

The APC Ekiti Campaign Council is expected to play a central role in shaping the party’s electoral strategy as political activities intensify ahead of the governorship poll.

Party officials say the initiative reflects a broader effort to consolidate internal structures and strengthen outreach across all wards in Ekiti State.
