The Brazilian forward said he had already made up his mind to leave Barcelona when Flick took charge, but the German coach quickly convinced him that he remained an important part of the club’s plans.

Raphinha explained that Flick’s confidence in him came at a crucial point in his career and helped restore his belief in his future at the Catalan club.

“I knew I was leaving Barça. I had already made that decision mentally… then Flick arrived,” Raphinha said, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The winger added that Flick’s message of trust made a significant difference.

“Hansi told me he trusted me and that I was going to be important. In a moment like that, just a few words can change you,” he said.

Flick’s arrival ultimately proved to be a major turning point in Raphinha’s Barcelona career.

Rather than pursuing a move away from Camp Nou, the Brazilian remained at the club and developed into an increasingly influential member of the squad under the German manager.

The winger’s revelation highlights the impact a manager’s confidence can have on a player, particularly at a time when uncertainty surrounds his future.
