50 APC Members Defect to NNPP in Kano

Fifty APC members from Kibiya Ward, Kano State, have defected to the NNPP, praising Governor Abba Yusuf’s record in governance and development

No fewer than 50 members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from Kibiya Ward in Kibiya Local Government Area of Kano State have defected to the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP).

The defection was announced in a statement issued on Wednesday by Balarabe Kiru, Director of Public Enlightenment at the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development.

Welcoming the new members, the state Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs, Adamu Kibiya, commended the defectors for their decision and assured them of the NNPP’s support. He attributed their move to the developmental strides of Governor Abba Yusuf’s administration.

According to him, Governor Yusuf’s government has recorded significant achievements in health, education, infrastructure, empowerment, and agriculture, all of which have positively impacted the people of Kano.

“The NNPP will support you. Remain steadfast in ensuring the administration’s success,” Kibiya told the new members.

Speaking on behalf of the defectors, Yakubu Alhaji said they were inspired by the governor’s focus on good governance and grassroots development.

Similarly, the councillor for Kibiya Ward, Auwalu Sarki, revealed that more political groups were preparing to join the NNPP in the coming weeks, praising the commissioner’s dedication to promoting both the party and the governor’s policies in Kibiya Local Government.

He added that Kibiya’s efforts had been instrumental in attracting supporters to the NNPP, which continues to consolidate its influence across the state.
