Lagos anti-cultism squad launched to fight cultism with rapid response teams across all area commands. Police urge public support with credible intelligence

In a bid to combat rising cultism threats, the Lagos State Police Command has officially deployed Lagos anti-cultism squad units to every area command across the state.

These specialised squads are trained and equipped to swiftly respond to cultism-related incidents. Their duties include surveillance operations, immediate responses to distress calls, suspect apprehension, and collaboration with local communities to dismantle cult networks.

“This initiative is a proactive step to root out cultism from our neighbourhoods,” said Commissioner of Police, Olohundare Jimoh. “We need the public’s help. Share credible intelligence quickly and we’ll handle the rest. Every report will be treated in the strictest confidence.”

In line with community engagement, the command released dedicated contact numbers for all area commands, including Lagos Island (08035216190), Apapa (08033781718), and Ikeja (08134619604), among others.

The deployment is part of a broader campaign to restore safety and public confidence in affected communities.

Jimoh added, “We want to send a clear message to cultists: Lagos is no longer a safe haven for your operations.”
