Wande Coal Most Talented Afrobeats Artist that’s the bold declaration made by veteran Nigerian singer and rapper, Seyi Sodimu, in a recent interview that’s now sparking discussions across the music scene.

Speaking with comedian Teju Babyface, Sodimu credited Wande Coal with playing a pivotal role in shaping the modern Afrobeats sound, influencing major artists like Wizkid, Davido, and Sean Tizzle.

“Wande Coal was one of the pivotal moments where he switched it [Afrobeats] to the new generation,” Sodimu said.

“It was Wande Coal’s style that took Afrobeats to the new sound. I think he is the most talented Nigerian Afrobeats artist.”

When Teju Babyface asked if Wande Coal was receiving the flowers he deserves, Sodimu was quick to emphasize that true artistry sometimes transcends commercial numbers.

Wande is a genius. He can sing, he writes. He is amazing.

“People love Wande Coal when they hear his music,” he said.

“Even Burna Boy can attest to Wande Coal’s artistry.”

Sodimu went further, stating that Wande Coal is only operating at 30% of his potential and still outperforming many in the industry.

“Imagine if he was operating on 78%,” he added.

“Wande is a genius. He can sing, he writes. He is amazing.”
