Leaked audio reveals Wasiu Ayinde allegedly threatened ValueJet CEO Adekunle Soname after a tarmac standoff at Abuja airport led to his six-month flying ban

New revelations have emerged in the ongoing drama between Fuji music legend Wasiu Ayinde and a ValueJet pilot at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, last Tuesday.

Earlier reports indicated that Ayinde attempted to stop a ValueJet aircraft from taking off after he was denied boarding for carrying a liquid container exceeding the permissible size.

Viral videos showed the musician refusing to leave the tarmac, blocking the taxiway, which prompted the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) to place him on a six-month nationwide flying ban.

Although the singer has since issued an apology, a leaked audio has now surfaced in which he allegedly threatened the business of ValueJet CEO, Adekunle Soname, repeatedly mentioning him by name.

In the recording, Ayinde — reportedly being questioned by officials — admitted to pouring the contents of his container on the airport staff who stopped him.

He claimed that since he was barred from boarding, he intended to ensure no one else left the airport.

Ayinde also vowed in the audio that Soname would “feel him” in his business dealings, stressing that he knew the airline chief personally “on the street.”
