Air Peace Abuja airport delay hits passengers as technical fault in baggage screening disrupts operations and causes extended waiting times

Operations at the domestic terminal of Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport were disrupted on Monday following a technical fault in baggage screening equipment, causing delays for passengers flying with Air Peace.

The airline confirmed that the glitch significantly slowed baggage processing and loading, affecting scheduled departures and leaving many travellers stranded at the terminal.

Air Peace explained that the disruption was traced to a malfunction in baggage screening equipment, which hindered normal operational flow.

“We sincerely regret to inform you of a temporary disruption affecting flight operations at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport Domestic Terminal, specifically impacting baggage processing and loading,” the airline said.

Efforts to minimise the impact included activating alternative screening procedures using available equipment.

While this ensured flights could continue safely, it also resulted in longer processing times and potential delays for some departures.

Air Peace personnel were fully mobilised to support passengers and prioritise affected flights, working closely with airport authorities to restore normal operations.

The airline appealed for understanding, saying, “We understand the inconvenience and uncertainty this may cause, and we truly appreciate your patience during this time.”

The carrier reaffirmed its commitment to reducing disruption to passengers’ travel plans, stating, “Please be assured that we are doing everything within our control to expedite the process and reduce the impact on your travel plans.
