Zenith Bank celebrates 35th anniversary, honours pioneer customers and staff. CEO and founder highlight legacy of innovation, growth, and service

Zenith Bank 35th anniversary celebrations were held in Lagos over the weekend, marking a major milestone in the institution’s journey as one of Africa’s most respected financial institutions.

The event brought together pioneer customers, long-serving staff, key stakeholders, and dignitaries to honour over three decades of banking excellence.

Founded in May 1990, Zenith Bank Plc has grown from modest beginnings into a pillar of stability and innovation in the Nigerian financial sector.

The 35th anniversary celebration served as both a tribute to its legacy and a reaffirmation of its future direction.

Speaking at the event, Dr. Adaora Umeoji, Group Managing Director and CEO of Zenith Bank Plc, praised the trust of customers and the dedication of employees as central to the bank’s success story.

“Our success has been built on the trust of our customers and the dedication of our staff. Today, we not only celebrate 35 years of growth and excellence but also the people who made this possible,” Umeoji stated.

Zenith Bank’s founder and chairman, Mr. Jim Ovia, lauded the bank’s transformation into a globally respected institution and acknowledged the pivotal roles played by its people and strategic vision.

The event was graced by high-profile guests including Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, industrialist Aliko Dangote, and traditional ruler Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, among other distinguished personalities.
