disburses ₦33.8m to families of officers who died in service, honouring their sacrifice under IGP Egbetokun’s welfare scheme

Kebbi State Police Command has disbursed cheques totalling ₦33,816,610.97 to 50 families of police officers who lost their lives while serving the nation.

The symbolic presentation, held on Thursday at the Command Headquarters in Birnin Kebbi, was led by Commissioner of Police Bello Sani.

The financial support was made under the Group Life Assurance and IGP Family Welfare Schemes, initiatives introduced by Inspector-General of Police Kayode Egbetokun to support families of fallen heroes and strengthen welfare across the Force.

Speaking at the event, CP Sani praised the Inspector-General’s unwavering dedication to officers’ well-being, describing the gesture as “a reflection of compassion and commitment that has brought immense joy and relief to bereaved families.”

He noted that the Kebbi State Police Command continues to benefit from the morale boost inspired by the IGP’s generosity, which has enhanced productivity and motivation across police formations.

Sani urged beneficiaries to invest their funds wisely in ventures that would ensure sustainable support for their dependents.

Responding on behalf of the recipients, Sonnen Simeon Mome expressed heartfelt gratitude to the IGP, noting that the assistance demonstrated that the Nigeria Police Force “has not forgotten the sacrifices of our loved ones.”
