The bank’s profit after tax (PAT) rose by 2.3 per cent to N537.5bn, compared to N525.3bn in the corresponding period of 2024.

This growth was largely driven by higher interest income, which increased to N1.98tn from N1.80tn, boosted by earnings from investment securities and customer loans.

However, interest expenses also rose to N808.7bn from N695.6bn due to higher funding costs.

The bank’s operating expenses stood at N846.1bn, slightly higher than N812.2bn in 2024.

Retained earnings rose by 9.8 per cent to N1.77tn, reflecting the bank’s continued focus on profit retention and balance sheet expansion across Africa and international operations.
