The Army releases the SSCC shortlist and orders candidates to report to NDA Kaduna on 1 December, issuing strict warnings on rules and disqualification

The Nigerian Army has released the list of shortlisted candidates for the Short Service Combatant Commission Course 49/2026 Selection Board, directing all successful applicants to report to the Nigerian Defence Academy, Ribadu Campus in Kaduna State, on 1 December 2025.

The announcement was contained in a statement signed by the Military Secretary (Army), who confirmed that the full SSCC shortlist is available on the Army’s recruitment portal at recruitment.army.mil.ng.

The Army advised all candidates to arrive in Kaduna on 30 November and report to the Selection Board venue between 6 am and 11 am on 1 December.

According to the statement, any candidate who arrives after 11 am on the reporting date will be automatically disqualified.

The Army stressed that strict compliance with the timetable remains essential for an orderly and credible selection process.

Shortlisted applicants must present original and photocopies of academic and professional certificates, including relevant NYSC discharge or exemption documents.

They are also required to bring birth certificates, certificates of state of origin, BVN printouts, NIN slips and completed forms from the SSCC portal.

The Army listed additional mandatory items, such as writing materials, blue shorts, white T-shirts, white canvas shoes, toiletries, beddings, full-size coloured photographs and scratch cards for verifying WAEC or NECO results.

Parents or guardians must submit a court-certified letter of consent confirming that they will not seek compensation for any injury or death sustained during the exercise.

The selection board will involve document screening, physical and medical tests, academic assessments and oral interviews.

The Army warned that any alteration on submitted documents will render them invalid, while breaches of instruction will lead to immediate disqualification.

Candidates will be accommodated and fed throughout the exercise but must fund their transportation.

The use of private vehicles and visits from outsiders are prohibited for the entire duration.

In a firm caution, the statement noted that, owing to the rigorous nature of military selection, the Nigerian Army will not be held liable for injuries or deaths recorded during the process.
