The 18-year-old’s moment of brilliance came 10 minutes after half-time when he received the ball on the right, beat two defenders, and lashed it into the roof of the net, marking his tenth goal of the season for club and country.

The home side had opened the scoring in the 27th minute through an own goal by Jules Kounde following a short-corner routine, before substitute Liam Delap sealed the victory in the 73rd minute, sidefooting home after VAR overruled an offside call.

Chelsea dominated from the first whistle, with Enzo Fernandez’s early goal disallowed for handball, and Pedro Neto missing a late chance.

Barcelona, reduced to 10 men after captain Ronald Araujo received a second yellow card just before half-time, struggled to respond and offered little threat in the second half.

The Stamford Bridge crowd celebrated Estevao’s performance, taunting Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal and cheering Chelsea’s control throughout the match.

Chelsea, returning to the Champions League after a two-year absence, now have three wins from five games, keeping their hopes alive for a top-eight finish and automatic qualification to the last 16.
