Terry G defends Burna Boy as he reacts to the backlash over the removal of a sleeping couple from Burna’s live show

Nigerian singer Gabriel Oche Amanyi, widely known as Terry G, has publicly backed Grammy winner Burna Boy following the backlash that trailed his decision to eject a sleeping couple from a recent concert.

In a video shared on his X handle, Terry G said critics were unfairly targeting Burna Boy simply because he is a public figure.

He argued that the artist’s response was justified, adding that even church leaders would not ignore such behaviour during a service.

According to him, Terry G Defends Burna Boy because allowing people to sleep at a live concert could send the wrong impression about the performer’s energy and potentially affect future turnout.

He questioned why anyone would attend a music show only to fall asleep.

He said the couple’s conduct risked undermining the show, noting that cameras capturing such moments could create a misleading narrative about the performance.

Terry G stated, “Una too like to dey hold people accountable just because say dem don be public figure.

If it happened in a church and someone was found sleeping, would the pastors not ask the ushers to wake them up? Because he’s a musician, you are going to his show to sleep so the camera can capture that moment and spoil his show.”
