Bauchi police arrest 14 suspected ‘Yan Sara-suka’ members for robbery and attacks in the state capital, following intelligence-led operations

The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested 14 suspected members of the notorious ‘Yan Sara-suka’ group for allegedly terrorising residents and committing robberies across the state capital.

The arrests followed targeted intelligence on their activities in Bakaro, Kofar Dumi, Tudun Yarima, and Kofar Madaki areas.

Police Public Relations Officer, Nafiu Habib, said the operation was conducted on January 15, 2026, after patrol teams acted swiftly on a credible tip-off.

The suspects were apprehended under the supervision of the Divisional Police Officer of ‘A’ Division, CSP Hassan A. Musa.

The suspects, aged between 18 and 22, are residents of Kofar Dumi, Karofin Madaki, Tudun Yarima, and Bakaro.

They were identified as Abbati (20), Mamman (21), Adamu (22), Khalid (20), Abubakar (19), Mahmood (22), Jabir (21), Haruna (18), another Khalid (18), another Abubakar (19), Kabiru (20), Anas (20), Mohammed (19), and Abdulkarim (22).

During interrogation, the suspects allegedly admitted to criminal conspiracy and possession of dangerous weapons, including machetes and sharp knives, which they reportedly used to rob citizens of money and mobile phones.

Habib noted that some victims sustained injuries after resisting attacks.

The Command’s Commissioner of Police, Sani-Omolori Aliyu, commended the public for their cooperation and urged residents to remain vigilant, continue reporting suspicious activities, and support the police in maintaining safety across Bauchi metropolis.
