Real Madrid manager Álvaro Arbeloa set a new club record after guiding his side to a 1-0 UEFA Champions League Round of 16 first-leg win over Benfica in Portugal on Tuesday.

Vinicius Junior scored the only goal of the match, giving the Spanish giants a first-leg advantage.

According to OptaJose, Real Madrid have now scored in all nine matches under Arbeloa this season across all competitions, tallying 23 goals in total.

The record marks the best start by any manager at the club since Manuel Pellegrini, who scored in his first 10 matches during the 2009/10 season.
