Speaking to journalists on Wednesday, former councillor in Calabar South Local Government Area, Hon. Effiom Ansa, described the governor as “Godsent to the state’s economic status.”

He added, “With him, our state’s economic situation will be the best. We have never had it better this way and I am sure, come 2027, we will rally around and support him.”

Former state Attorney General, Nela Andem Ewa (SAN), also praised Bassey Otu for repositioning the state, noting that the revival of Tinapa and other key projects signalled renewed economic hope.

She highlighted the importance of technology parks and eco-tourism zones to drive innovation, sustainability, and economic diversification.

“For me, building the Cross River of citizens’ aspirations is a collective responsibility. I want to call on all stakeholders and actors across sectors to contribute to sustainable growth and development of this state because we are regaining our footing,” Nela Andem Ewa said.

Reverend Dr Tonye Daniels encouraged residents and leaders to combine prayers with strategic policy alignment and constructive dialogue to shape the state’s economic trajectory and ensure long-term development.
