Wolves defeat Liverpool 2–1 at Molineux with stoppage-time winner, dealing a blow to the Reds’ Premier League title hopes

Struggling Wolverhampton Wanderers delivered a dramatic blow to Liverpool’s Premier League title ambitions on Tuesday night, securing a 2–1 victory at Molineux in front of 30,247 fans.

Liverpool dominated possession for long spells, probing through Mohamed Salah, Dominik Szoboszlai and Cody Gakpo, but Wolves’ disciplined defence and the assured goalkeeping of José Sá kept the visitors at bay.

The breakthrough came in the 78th minute when Rodrigo Gomes controlled a pass inside the box and lifted the ball over an advancing Alisson Becker, putting Wolves 1–0 ahead.

Liverpool responded swiftly. Mohamed Salah produced a moment of individual brilliance five minutes later, gliding past defenders and rifling a shot into the net to level the score at 1–1.

The match-defining moment arrived in stoppage time. In the 94th minute, André collected the ball outside the box, unleashed a long-range strike that took a deflection, wrong-footing Alisson and rolling into the net to restore Wolves’ lead at 2–1.

Despite desperate efforts from Virgil van Dijk and Federico Chiesa in the final minutes, Liverpool could not find an equaliser, leaving Molineux celebrating a memorable victory.
