Arokodare, who joined Wolves last summer, has faced a challenging campaign as the club struggles at the bottom of the table with just 13 points from 29 matches and only two wins.

“The two leagues are comparable: physically demanding, intense, and fast. But in the Premier League, you have to double your efforts,” Arokodare told Het Nieuwsblad.

He described his early matches in England as “a struggle” and acknowledged that he has not yet reached his desired level of performance.

“It wasn’t easy, I admit. My first matches were a struggle. It was even harder than I expected. I’ve made progress since then, but I’m not where I want to be yet,” he said.

The striker compared his battle against relegation in England with his previous fight for the title in Belgium, emphasising the contrast in pressure and expectations.

“I knew I wasn’t coming here on holiday, that I’d have to fight. So not much has changed in that respect. I was fighting with Genk, and now I’m fighting with Wolves — then for the title, now to stay up in the league,” he added.

Despite scoring two goals in 25 Premier League appearances so far, Arokodare remains focused on improving and learning from the experience.

“I want to learn from this and become stronger. But it goes without saying that it’s tough being top scorer last season and now not even close to double figures,” he admitted.

The Wolves striker will hope to rediscover his scoring form when the team faces Liverpool on Tuesday night.
