Sunday Oliseh urges Victor Osimhen and Ademola Lookman to lead the Super Eagles to trophies after stellar Champions League performances

Former Nigeria head coach, Sunday Oliseh, has called on Victor Osimhen and Ademola Lookman to guide the Super Eagles to titles in the near future.

Speaking on his Global Football Insights Podcast, Oliseh praised both players as “top Nigerian talents,” highlighting their impressive performances in the Champions League with Galatasaray and Atlético Madrid, respectively.

“We have two top Nigerian players currently excelling in the Champions League. Osimhen is doing well, and Lookman is also doing exceptionally well. All we need now is for these two top players to lead the team [Super Eagles] and for the others to follow, and you will have it,” Oliseh said.

The pair played pivotal roles in helping Nigeria secure a bronze medal at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, cementing their status as key figures in the national team’s future ambitions.
