Israel strikes on Iran intensify with 3,400 attacks reported as Iran’s Revolutionary Guards claim missile strike on a US base in Bahrain

The Israel Defense Forces said on Saturday that it had carried out about 3,400 strikes on targets across Iran since Israel and the United States launched military operations against Tehran a week ago.

Military spokesman Effie Defrin, a brigadier general in the Israeli army, said approximately 7,500 munitions had been dropped on Iranian targets during the ongoing campaign.

The strikes form part of an intensifying effort aimed at weakening strategic and military installations across the country.

Later on Saturday evening, the Israeli military announced that a fresh wave of strikes had begun in Tehran, signalling a further escalation in the conflict as operations continued deep inside Iranian territory.

Meanwhile, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps claimed responsibility for a retaliatory missile attack on a United States military installation in Juffair, Bahrain.

According to the Guards, the base had earlier been used to launch an attack on a desalination facility on Qeshm Island in southern Iran.

“In response to the aggression of American terrorists from the Juffair base against the Qeshm desalination plant, this American base was immediately struck by precision guided solid fuel and liquid fuel missiles of the IRGC,” the group said in a statement published on its website.

The latest exchanges underline the rapidly expanding scope of the conflict, with military actions now involving multiple countries and strategic sites across the region.

International observers have warned that the intensifying confrontation could deepen instability across the Middle East if diplomatic efforts fail to contain the situation.
