Adamawa police arrest two suspects over abduction of a four-year-old boy in Numan LGA; ransom of ₦800,000 was reportedly demanded

The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested two individuals for allegedly abducting a four-year-old boy in Ngballang, Numan LGA and demanding a ransom of ₦800,000.

The incident was reported on March 2, 2026, by Umar Ibrahim, whose son, Ramadan, went missing on March 1 while playing outside.

A few days later, the father received a call from an unknown number claiming that his child had been kidnapped.

The suspects, Sadiq Ali, 19, and Shitu Umar, 23, residents of Lafiya in Lamurde Local Government Area, were apprehended following an investigation by the Numan Police Division.

According to the state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Nguroje, the suspects confessed during interrogation.

The command has since directed its Anti-Kidnapping Unit to take over for further investigation and prosecution.

Nguroje reaffirmed the command’s commitment to safeguarding lives and property across the state.
