Bacary Sagna says Kepa’s error wasn’t the only reason Arsenal lost Carabao Cup final, also criticizes Kai Havertz’s missed early chance

Former Arsenal and Manchester City defender Bacary Sagna has defended Mikel Arteta following Arsenal’s 2–0 defeat to Manchester City in the Carabao Cup final, insisting that goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga was not solely responsible for the loss, in what has sparked debate around the Arsenal Carabao Cup final Sagna Kepa Havertz discussion.

Sagna argued that while Kepa made an error that led to Manchester City’s opening goal at Wembley, the defeat could not be blamed on a single player.

According to him, Arsenal’s overall team performance, particularly in the second half, contributed significantly to the outcome of the match.

The former defender also highlighted Kai Havertz’s missed early opportunity, suggesting that converting the chance could have changed the course of the game.

He praised Manchester City goalkeeper James Trafford for making key saves that kept Arsenal from scoring when they had early momentum.
