Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernández has revealed that former Real Madrid star Toni Kroos is the most impressive opponent he has faced in his career.

Fernández said the German legend left a strong impression on him during a UEFA Champions League encounter between Chelsea and Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabéu.

According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, the Argentine midfielder praised Kroos’ control and composure in midfield.

“The opponent player that impressed me the most? Toni Kroos,” Fernández said.

“It was Real Madrid vs Chelsea at the Bernabéu, and he was so impressive. Luka Modrić too.”

Kroos, who retired from professional football in 2024 after UEFA Euro 2024, enjoyed a decorated career filled with major honours.

The 36-year-old won multiple UEFA Champions League titles and domestic trophies with Real Madrid and Bayern Munich, establishing himself as one of the finest midfielders of his generation.
