Jadon Sancho Borussia Dortmund return gains momentum as winger plans free exit from Manchester United after loan spell at Aston Villa

England international Jadon Sancho has reportedly expressed willingness to return to Borussia Dortmund after his expected departure from Manchester United at the end of the current season.

The 26-year-old winger, who currently belongs to Manchester United, is set to leave the club as a free agent this summer following an underwhelming spell at Old Trafford.

Sancho originally joined Manchester United from Borussia Dortmund in 2021 in a deal worth £73 million, but he struggled to consistently replicate his Bundesliga form in England.

This season, he has spent time on loan at Aston Villa, as United moved to facilitate his exit and reduce his high wage burden reportedly worth £300,000 per week.

Reports from Germany indicate that Sancho has already held discussions with Borussia Dortmund and has made it clear he would welcome a return to the Bundesliga club where he first rose to prominence.

The winger is said to have attracted interest from multiple clubs across Europe and beyond, but Dortmund currently appears to be his preferred destination.

Dortmund head coach Niko Kovač has reportedly approved the idea of Sancho’s return, leaving the final decision in the hands of the German club’s management.

Sancho enjoyed his most productive years at Dortmund earlier in his career, where his performances established him as one of Europe’s most exciting young attackers.
