NFF warning came as the governing body confirmed that fixtures will hold on Saturday, 25 April, and Sunday, 26 April, with winners advancing to the national play-off stage ahead of the main draw.

According to the NFF, all Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) fixtures have been suspended for two weeks to accommodate the 2026 Federation Cup schedule, shifting Matchday 36 to 3 May and Matchday 37 to 10 May.

The competition calendar will experience another pause on 16 and 17 May before the season concludes on 24 May.

Lagos State, however, will stage its own final on 3 May after securing special approval due to the unavailability of its original venue, which has been reserved for an official government function.

In a firm statement, NFF Director of Competitions, Ruth David, warned that any state failing to conduct its final match within the stipulated weekend window, aside from Lagos State’s approved adjustment, will face a ₦1,000,000 fine.
