The decision brings an end to Parker’s tenure after a difficult top-flight campaign in which Burnley managed only four league victories and suffered the defeat that confirmed their drop against Manchester City earlier this month.

In an official statement, the club acknowledged Parker’s contribution, highlighting a standout promotion campaign in the 2024/25 season that saw Burnley return to the Premier League with a record-breaking run of 31 unbeaten matches and 30 clean sheets.

The club praised his professionalism and commitment, describing his departure as one marked by mutual respect.

Parker, in his farewell message, expressed pride in leading Burnley over the past two years, describing the promotion season as a major highlight of his managerial career.

He thanked the club’s ownership, staff, players and supporters for their backing throughout his spell in charge.

Mike Jackson will now take charge of the team for the remaining four league fixtures, beginning with a trip to Leeds United, as Burnley begin planning for the 2026/27 season in the Championship.
