Everton vs Man City Moyes reaction as David Moyes admits his side failed to manage the game after a 3-3 Premier League draw

Everton manager David Moyes has admitted his side fell short in game management after surrendering a two-goal lead in a dramatic 3-3 Premier League draw against Manchester City at the Hill Dickinson Stadium on Monday night.

Moyes reaction came after the Toffees let a commanding 3-1 advantage slip late in the second half, with Erling Haaland and Jeremy Doku striking in quick succession to rescue a point for the visitors.

Everton had taken control of the contest through a brace from Thierno Barry and a goal from Jake O’Brien, leaving the home side in a strong position deep into the second half before City’s late surge.

Speaking after the match, David Moyes admitted his team failed to close out the game effectively, pointing to a key defensive lapse that allowed Manchester City back into the contest.

“We let ourselves down because we defended the second goal so poorly,” Moyes said. “We were hugely outplayed in the first half.”

He added that while his players showed strong resilience to fight back into the game, they lacked the composure required to maintain their lead at a crucial stage.

“When we got to 3-1, we should be doing enough to see it out,” he said.
