Bruno Fernandes sets a new Premier League assist record with 21 assists, surpassing Thierry Henry and Kevin De Bruyne in a historic season

Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes has set a new Premier League record for the most assists in a single season after providing his 21st assist during a 3–0 victory over Brighton & Hove Albion on Sunday in the final match of the campaign.

Bruno Fernandes, the Manchester United midfielder and club captain, delivered the decisive corner kick that led to Patrick Dorgu’s opening goal, sealing his place in Premier League history with a record-breaking creative performance.

The assist moved Fernandes beyond the previous record jointly held by Arsenal legend Thierry Henry and Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne, both of whom registered 20 assists in a single season.

Fernandes had earlier equalled the milestone in Manchester United’s 3–2 win over Nottingham Forest, where he assisted Bryan Mbeumo, setting up a dramatic final-day achievement.

The Portugal international’s remarkable consistency throughout the season has been widely recognised, with Fernandes also recently named Premier League Player of the Season, alongside the Football Writers’ Association Footballer of the Year award.

His record-breaking campaign highlights his central role in Manchester United’s attacking structure, with his vision, passing range and leadership proving vital in key moments across the season.
